The Freewheel Collective's Skill Share Program:

One of the goals of the Freewheel Collective is to get more people riding their bikes. We recognize that many people lack the mechanical skills that would make them feel more confident relying on their bikes for transportation. If you can't fix your bike, you are probably not going to ride it for very long.

Sharing mechanical skills is one of our chief missions. In late March, we will begin our second round of Skill Sharing sessions. Anyone can show up, as the sessions assume no prior mechanical experience. Although it is beneficial to show up at all the sessions, you can show up to as many sessions as you wish - all sessions are "stand alone".

If you would like to work on your own bike during these sessions, feel free to bring it. Otherwise, we have plenty of bikes that need work, so we will be happy to find a bike for you to practice on (and sometimes it is better not to practice on your own bike!).

All Skill Sharing sessions take place in room 024 of the Stony Brook Union (directions).

Below is the schedule of sessions for the next round of Skill Sharing:

NOTICE: Currently, we are overhauling our skill-sharing curriculum.  We will begin 2 separate 3-week sessions beginning in March.  If you are interested in attending the next skill shares, please send an email to fwcoord@gmail.com.
