The Eighth International Conference on Stickleback Behavior and Evolution will be held from July 26 - 31, 2015 in the Charles B. Wang Center at Stony Brook University, on Long Island, NY, USA. The campus is easily accessible by air, railroad, and car and has excellent conference facilities. It is located about a mile (1.5 km) from Long Island Sound and Stony Brook Village and is surrounded by wooded suburban neighborhoods and small villages that present opportunities for dining and shopping. It is warm (25 – 30 C) and humid in late July, and rain is a possibility. Long Island is a terminal moraine that formed at the southern limit of the Laurentide continental glacier. It is known for broad, sandy beaches with warm water along its south shore, and the Hamptons and a major wine-growing region on its east end. Stony Brook is about 110 km (68 miles) and 1.5 hours from Manhattan, NY by car or train. The Stony Brook train station is a 15-minute walk or short campus bus ride from the Wang Center and Nobel Residence Halls (i.e., dormitories), where most participants will be housed.
