Due to disappointing early registration, it has become necessary to cancel Darwin 2009 as a large meeting with open registration. Instead, it will be held as a small workshop involving the original speakers and a small number of discussants, who have already been invited.
If you registered for the meeting, your registration fee has already been refunded to the account from which it was drawn. In addition, we have cancelled your reservation at local hotels. Please contact M. Caitlin Fisher-Reid (mcaitlin@life.bio.sunysb.edu) if you have already incurred travel costs to attend Darwin 2009.
We deeply regret the need to cancel Darwin 2009 as a public meeting. However, we hope to webcast the Darwin 2009 lectures live, and we anticipate that a volume based on the lectures and discussions at Darwin 2009 will be published in the spring of 2010.
