Michael Axelrod
Instructional Support Specialist / Greenhouse Curator
Mike has been managing the Life Sciences Greenhouse for the past seventeen years and has over twenty five years experience in plant related research and public horticulure. Prior to working at Stony Brook he has worked for the New York Botanical Garden, The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation and Cornell University. He holds a MA/LS from Stony Brook in Science Education, a B.S. in Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture from Cornell University and an A.A.S. in Ornamental Horticulture from The State University of New York at Farmingdale. John Klumpp
Instructional Support Associate / Assistant Greenhouse Curator
John has been the Assistant Curator at the Life Sciences Greenhouse since 1992. He has a background in science education and was previously a science teacher in the Port Jefferson School District. He has extensive experience in commercial greenhouse production and has also worked as an artist in the field of plant illustration. John holds a B.S.in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook.
