The Life Science Greenhouse
State University of New York at Stony Brook
Instruction
One of our roles is to create and provide a "living
plant laboratory" for the many undergraduate students in our
biology courses. Students have the opportunity to explore plants from
many parts of the world and to learn about plant ecology, evolution,
botany and horticulture.
The Greenhouse is often the host for visiting students from many local school districts on Long Island. We invite this interaction and encourage educators to consider the value of utilizing plants as an effective "teaching model" in their curriculum.
